THE BIRTH OF MALLUS [paperback]
HATE ALWAYS HAS A BEGINNING.
BUT OFTEN REFUSES TO DIE...
In a bygone age, the name Walton was synonymous with terror and dread. Now his shadow covers the isolated village of Whetchilowe Cleave and threatens to extinguish the last flicker of its ancient faith and ways.
Servants to a mighty and ancient tree, the villagers begin sacrificing their most vulnerable at the command of a newly born death cult. But their cruelty awakens something far more terrible than they could ever have imagined. For their devotion will summon Walton—the most feared warrior in the land—and unleash a chain of violence, hatred and vengeance that will consume them all.
Centuries later, a young descendant of Walton will enter the ruins of that cursed place, where the old hatred still lingers. Will he become the next victim of his ancestor's legacy and pay the ultimate price for crimes committed long before he was born?
The Birth of Mallus is a dark and unsettling prequel to The Dreadful Demise of Jake Walton, a book which the author recommends reading after this novella to truly understand the nightmare world Jake enters.
